A bed, a wardrobe, side tables and a mirror, preferably a dressing table – these pieces of furniture belong in every bedroom. But sometimes our homes need more than just basic foods. For example, in this regular yellow bedroom, the owner had only the bare essentials – a simple queen-sized bed, a side table and a reading lamp. The only source of color in the room was the houseplant and the pastel pink curtains. The room clearly lacked character and style. We redecorated the room with beige floral wallpaper. An overall color scheme of beige and white was chosen in the room – from heavy curtains to bed and side tables. We gifted the owner a multi-purpose bed with hidden storage compartments. On one side, the side table was replaced by an elegant open bookcase. The room now looks stylish and sophisticated.

If a TV can aesthetically enhance a room and create more storage space, then we think it’s a great idea. We added a huge wall-to-wall modular TV to give this boring dark gray master bedroom a makeover. We removed the blackout curtains and installed full length heavy beige and white curtains to enhance the room. We gave the room a hotel-like chic look by maintaining a color theme in the decor, furniture and wall color. We replaced the old fan with a stylish chandelier and gave the room more definition. Now picture frames, decorative plants, books and vases have their own areas. Game consoles and various remote controls can be stored hidden, making the bedroom look neat and tidy.

This master bedroom had a lot of potential. Spacious room, nice false ceiling, tiled floor – but lacked character. The huge ornate clock captured the focus and diverted attention from other parts of the room. We breathed new life into the space by creating a gallery wall. The combination of alternately placed wooden tiles and patterned silhouette instantly gives the bedroom a regal look. We painted the room white, which made the room appear larger and brighter. We removed the massive cabinet and replaced it with an extended floating shelf with seamless drawers, giving the room a brighter look and creating storage space. The L-shaped wall-to-wall cabinets provide additional storage space while also serving as an additional seating area. It is a perfect place for a reading corner. The modular bed with storage provides space for additional linens and blankets.

The homeowner has more space in this bedroom than he knows how to use. But awkwardly placed loose furniture consumed the large area. The outdated built-in cupboard was an integral part of the room. Plus, because of the bean bag, there was no space left. We transformed this master suite into a cozy, intimate space covered in timeless textures throughout. The biggest change was the DIY wall behind the bed that we covered with wallpaper. We also replaced the existing wardrobe with a modular wardrobe with sliding shutters. A strategically placed mirror on the wardrobe shutter makes the room appear larger. A custom-made modular bed with a high headboard replaced the queen-size bed. The new bed also matches the color scheme of the room. We replaced the black open side table with an elegant closed table with two drawers. Now books can be safely stored. The chandelier replaced the boring old fan and instantly transformed the room.

Renovating the master bedroom before and after saves a mishap

While the room size is medium in size, the huge king-size bed takes up almost the entire room. The brown wardrobe and the old couch make the room darker. This narrow bedroom is crying out for a complete makeover. We gave this once cramped bedroom a cohesive and modern makeover with crisp, clean finishes. We covered an entire wall with textured wallpaper. We replaced the dark built-in wardrobe with an elegant, futuristic wardrobe that aesthetically enhances the room. It also features an open shelf for displaying book collections and knick-knacks. The white modular queen bed serves its purpose well and also offers storage space inside. However, the highlight of this room is the massive floor lamp.

This guest room was a blank canvas for us to remodel. As for the furniture, there was only a wrought iron queen bed with no storage space. The closet was built in. We gave this space a makeover by installing a bedroom unit with an accent wall, floating side table and a queen-sized wooden bed with storage. It makes the room cozy and gives it a modern and elegant look. We also replaced the gaudy curtains with two roller blinds. Finally, we hung two elegant accent lights on the ceiling that serve as reading lamps.

A huge bedroom with so much space needs an element that will immediately grab your attention. Although the space wasn’t shabby before and had plenty of natural light coming in from the three large windows, it needed a touch of luxury. We used a gorgeous ivory wallpaper throughout the room, which instantly gave this master bedroom a royal touch. To create contrast, we used dark purple curtains for one picture window and similar ivory and white curtains for the two smaller windows next to the bed. However, the main accent of this room is the massive, upholstered headboard that reaches to the ceiling. We also used the same dark mauve color. The modular king-size bed features storage space and a floating side table to make the room appear larger. We also hung two accent lights from the ceiling.
